In the spirit of making small changes for 30 days, my Hysterectomy Recovery Weight Loss Partners group and I are going to have a 30-day challenge to help get us back in to shape.
Still in recovery? No worries! You’ll be happy to know that we’ll also have a non-physical challenge to develop healthy habits from staying hydrated to eating more fruits and veggies.
Challenge #1: Walking
For those who are physically up to it, I found this the 30-day walking challenge (not created by me), which has a variety of different types of short, 20-35 minute walks in different scenarios like listening to a podcast, going on a nature trail, etc.
Walking is great exercise whether you’re getting back into the groove of working out after your operation or have been post-op for several years. This challenge is a great way to get back into the swing of things, and even if you can’t walk for that long, just keep on going and see how much stamina you’ve gained after the 30 days.
Challenge #2: Healthy Habits
For those who’d like something different than walking, there’s also a healthy habits challenge which is great for those who not only want a little more variety in their challenge, but also develop good habits.
One way to reinforce these habits is to build up on the previous daily challenge. For example, Day 1 is to “Chew Your Food” and Day 2 is “Don’t Eat Before Bed”. On Day 2, keep on doing the Day 1 challenge of chewing your food and simply add on not eating before bed. It’ll be like this:
Day 1: Chew Food
Day 2: Don’t eat before bed + Chew food
Day 3: Eat veggies with all meals + Don’t eat before bed + Chew food
…and so on.
Find both 30-day challenge templates below. Hope you’ll join us!
